Classic pickle with rice and cucumbers for the winter
Let’s support the wonderful Slavic tradition and take care of conservation for the winter. Today we will focus on the classic pickle with rice and cucumbers. I recommend cooking it in a large cauldron or a saucepan with a thick bottom.
Step by step cooking recipe
Finely chop the tomatoes, celery stalks, peeled potatoes and onions. Grate carrots and cucumbers.
Fry onions and carrots in a deep cauldron for 5-7 minutes.
Add tomatoes, cucumbers, celery stalks, spices and simmer for 15 minutes.
Pour in hot water, add potatoes and washed rice. Boil everything together for 15 minutes.
Season with salt and remove from heat after 2 minutes.
Pour hot pickle into sterilized jars and roll up.
