  • Bacon (8 slices)
  • Fresh Sage (1/4 cup, chopped)
  • Onion (1, chopped)
  • Garlic (3 cloves, minced)
  • Chicken Broth (1 cup)
  • Olive Oil (2 tablespoons)
  • Salt and Pepper (to taste)

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Turkey:
    • Pat the turkey breast dry with paper towels.
    • Rub the turkey with olive oil, then season generously with salt, pepper, and half of the chopped sage.
  2. Layer the Crockpot:
    • Line the bottom of the crockpot with the chopped onion and minced garlic.
    • Lay the seasoned turkey breast on top of the onions and garlic.
  3. Add Bacon and Sage:
    • Lay the bacon slices over the turkey breast, covering it completely.
    • Sprinkle the remaining sage over the bacon.
  4. Cook:
    • Pour the chicken broth around the turkey in the crockpot.
    • Cover and cook on low for 6-7 hours or until the turkey is fully cooked and tender.
  5. Finish and Serve:
    • Once the turkey is cooked, remove it from the crockpot and let it rest for a few minutes.
    • Slice the turkey and serve with some of the cooking juices spooned over the top.

This recipe will yield a wonderfully tender and flavorful turkey, with the bacon not only adding taste but also helping to keep the meat moist. The sage brings an aromatic earthiness that complements the turkey and bacon beautifully.
