Gooseberry and raspberry compote for the winter
Gooseberry and raspberry compote will become a favorite drink for children and adults in the cold season. I prepare this drink according to the recipe without sterilization. This way, the incredible aroma and maximum benefit of the berries are preserved, and the compote acquires a beautiful ruby color.
Step by step cooking recipe
Rinse gooseberries and raspberries in cold water, dry slightly. Then put the berries in pre-sterilized jars by about a third.
Boil water. Pour boiling water over the berries to the top of the jar. Cover with sterile lids and let stand for 25-30 minutes.
After that, pour the liquid from the cans into a cooking pot and boil again.
Add sugar and citric acid to jars with berries. Fill with boiling water, roll up. Turn jars of compote upside down, wrap with a blanket and leave to cool completely. For long-term storage, transfer jars of gooseberry and raspberry compote to a cool, dark place.
