And that’s where this oat porridge fits in perfectly. It only takes 15 minutes to prepare and that’s it nutritious breakfast on the table. The porridge is beautifully creamy. And the blueberry compote gives breakfast a fruity-sweet note. Perfect!

In addition, this recipe only needs four ingredients. Well, actually five if you count the water. The blueberries and maple syrup are boiled together with some water. Because it’s easier, I used frozen blueberries. Then you cook the oats together with the milk for five minutes until they are soft and creamy. You don’t have to do more. You can do that too, right?

A quick porridge with berry compote is perfect for those who don’t have much time in the morning. The creamy porridge is wonderfully complemented by the blueberry compote. Simple but really good.

  • 200 g frozen blueberries
  • 2 EL Maple syrup
  • 60 g fine oatmeal
  • 240 ml whole milk

  1. Place the blueberries, 2 tablespoons water, and maple syrup in a small saucepan and cook for seven minutes.
  2. Put the oats and milk in a saucepan and cook for five minutes until soft. Stir from time to time so that the oatmeal becomes even creamier.
  3. To serve, place the porridge in a bowl and top with the blueberry compote. Drizzle a little more maple syrup on top.


TIP 1: For a vegan version of the recipe, simply replace the milk with a plant-based alternative.
