healthy versions of New Year’s salads –

Shuba with homemade dressing


  • Fish (herring) – 1 pc.
  • Carrots – 2 pcs.
  • Potato – 3 pcs.
  • Onion – 1 pc.
  • Beets – 1 pc.
  • Egg – 3 pcs.
  • Cream – 200 g.
  • Mustard – to your taste

Step by step cooking recipe

  1. Boil vegetables and eggs. Clean and finely chop the fish.
  2. Vegetables are also peeled and grated, chop the eggs.
  3. Mix mustard and sour cream.
  4. Put the fish in a dish, onion on top, brush with sauce.
  5. The next layers on the same principle – potatoes, carrots, eggs, beets. Leave for a while to soak.

If you don’t want mayonnaise, even if it’s homemade, you can cook another dressing.


  • Mustard – 2 tsp.
  • Vegetable oil – 100 gr.
  • Apple cider vinegar – 2 tsp
  • Sol – 1/2 tsp.

Step by step cooking recipe

  1. After mixing mustard with vinegar and salt, pour oil into it, not forgetting to stir all the time.

As an option, you can make a herring under a fur coat without potatoes. Everything is simple here: either you change potatoes in the recipe for apples, or you can do without this ingredient altogether. “Fur coat” will not lose much in taste.

Olivier salad

Obligatory on all New Year’s tables “Olivier” – the salad is very tasty, but not particularly healthy. How to reduce its calorie content and harmfulness? Having removed the sausage, mayonnaise, peas and pickles. And what’s left, you ask. And we will not just remove harmful ingredients, but replace them with more useful ones. Chicken or turkey (namely breasts) is a great alternative to sausage, fresh cucumbers are pickled cucumbers, frozen (warmed, of course) peas will perfectly replace canned ones, and homemade mayonnaise (or other dressing) prepared by you – what is bought in the store.


  • Chicken breast – 200 gr.
  • Potato – 200 gr. (1-2 pieces)
  • Carrot – 3 pcs. (medium)
  • Onion – 2 pcs. (small)
  • Fresh cucumber – 200 gr.
  • Frozen peas – 200 gr.
  • Mustard – 2 tsp.
  • Avocado – 1 pc.
  • Soy sauce – 2 tsp
  • Yogurt natural – 100 gr.
  • Eggs – 2 pcs.
  • Ground pepper – to your taste

Step by step cooking recipe

  1. Boil the breast.
  2. Boil washed carrots and potatoes until soft. Then, when cool, clean.
  3. Hard boil the eggs and peel them too. Cut into two parts and separate the yolk from the protein.
  4. Put the peas filled with hot water on the stove for five minutes, then drain the water.
  5. Finely chop the chicken, cut into cubes all the vegetables and egg white.
  6. Put everything in a dish.
  7. Make the sauce: Mix yogurt, egg yolk, avocado pulp, mustard and soy sauce in a blender. Add salt and pepper.
  8. Season the salad and mix, leave for half an hour.

Salad with crab sticks

Crab sticks – tasty, but also not very healthy. This ingredient in the salad can be replaced with krill meat, shrimp and actually crab (canned) meat. And again, make your own dressing – so as not to spend money on purchased mayonnaise.


The classic “Mimosa” is prepared with potatoes and a lot of mayonnaise. We have already dealt with the dressing above, and as for the potatoes, you can simply remove it. Fish, carrots, eggs, onions and cheese with dressing will be enough to make the salad no less tasty.
