The first storage method we suggest includes the classic refrigerator. By following a few small precautions they will last about 2/3 days.

  1. Choose only the most beautiful strawberries and immediately discard those that are bruised or have parts of mold. If you leave them all together, you risk that all your fruit will go bad in a short time.
  2. To make them last as long as possible don’t wash them right away: Strawberries are very porous fruits that absorb moisture. So try to wet them only when necessary, before enjoying them.
  3. For the same reason, don’t remove the leaflets green except when it is time to consume them.

Strawberries can be frozen without any problems and they will last up to a year. Keep in mind that once defrosted they will be softer compared to the beginning. Also in this case, absolutely discard those that show signs of mold or dents. You can store them in the freezer as they are or make some ice cubes:

  • To freeze the strawberries, wash them very well and dry them with the same care. Remove the leaves and put them away well spaced in the freezer so that they freeze individually. Afterwards, put them all inside a freezer bag and take them out if necessary.
  • Alternatively, make some cubes blending the fruits and placing them in the appropriate trays.
  • Alternatively, you can cut them into small pieces, arrange them in molds and add water; then use these strawberry ice cubes to flavor the water.
