Homemade cakes are often prepared with the addition of cherry confiture. It is quite thick, moderately sweet and goes well with most types of dough. A more homogeneous mass can be obtained by interrupting the confiture with an immersion blender.
Step by step cooking recipe
Rinse the cherries under running water and remove the pits.
Mix sugar, cornstarch and citric acid.
Pour cherries into a deep saucepan, add dry preparation and mix.
Bring the mixture to a boil over low heat and simmer until it thickens. On average, it takes 10-15 minutes.
Spread the hot confiture into jars and close the lids.
