Recipe: Bigus (bigos)

Step by step cooking recipe

Cut the pork ribs into large pieces so that each piece has a bone.

Place in hot skillet and fry until golden brown on all sides.

Peel the onion and cut into half rings.

Put in a pan and fry with the ribs, stirring until golden brown.

Grate carrots on a coarse grater.

Add to the ribs and stir-fry until soft.

It’s 5-6 minutes.

Sauerkraut can be added to this dish with a little brine.

Reduce the heat and simmer the sauerkraut, stirring for 15 minutes.

Cover the pan with a lid.

Cut fresh white cabbage.

Maybe not very small.

Add to skillet, lightly salt and pepper.

You can add your favorite spices.

Push under the lid, stirring for 1-1.5 hours.

Whole prunes, pitted, washed and dried.

Add to the almost ready bigus and simmer everything together for 15 minutes.
