Recipe: Buns with custard cream

Step by step cooking recipe

We start cooking with custard.

Pour sugar, starch, vanilla sugar into a deep bowl.

We mix. Add egg yolks and stir with a whisk until smooth.

Pour the milk into a small saucepan, add the butter and heat on the stove, stirring constantly until the butter melts.

Add beaten yolks.

Cook the cream over medium heat, stirring constantly, until it thickens.

Remove from stove and let cool.

To prevent the cream from crusting, during cooling, stir the cream from time to time with a whisk.

Cooking dough.

Pour warm milk (about 40 degrees) into a deep bowl, add sugar and yeast.

We mix.

Sift flour into it, add salt and baking powder.

I knead the dough.

When it begins to form a ball, add vegetable oil and continue kneading until all the oil is absorbed and the dough becomes elastic.

Divide the dough into 8 equal parts, roll each piece into a ball.

Cover the balls with a towel.

We take one ball, knead it with our hands into a cake, put the cream in the center, collect it like a khinkal and form a ball.

We spread the prepared buns on a double boiler, let the buns rest for 12 minutes.

Bring water to a boil in a saucepan.

Install the bun steamer.

Cover with towel and lid.

Cook for 10 minutes over high heat.

Then turn off the stove and let stand for another 3 minutes.

We remove the steamer from the stove, remove the lid and towel, let the buns cool completely and sit down to drink tea!
