Original and delicious, i mummy sausage with puff pastry are a quick and easy halloween appetizer. A fun idea to prepare even with the help of the little ones and which translates into a delicious and monstrous snack!
The preparation of what can also be served as aperitif for an informal dinner between friends is very simple, and consists of quick and undemanding passages.
Depending on the quantity of frankfurters to be produced, one or more will be needed puff pastry rolls. The latter, cut into strips one centimeter wide each, will be used to wrap the morsel of meat, the preparation of which requires at least 3 strips so that it is as similar as possible to the gauze which cover, in a somewhat superficial but harmonious way, the mummies.
Because the color conferred in baking stage turns out to be slightly golden, just use a beaten egg and brush the surface of the halloween mummies.
The rest is done by the oven, with its 180° in ventilated mode and 15 minutes of cooking.
The real protagonists of this halloween appetizer they are certainly the frankfurters. It is good to choose those of medium size and basically threadlike, in order to be able to make the cuts at the height of the legs and arms and highlight the latter with puff pastry.
Cut each frankfurter in half from the base up to 2/3 of the height to make the legs, in the upper part cut diagonally and laterally, stopping 3cm from the upper base to make the arms. Be careful not to break the frankfurters.
Unroll the puff pastry and cut it into 1cm strips lengthwise.
Roll the puff pastry around each würstel, making sure it goes through the cuts, in order to emphasize the arms and legs.
Brush with beaten egg and cook in a ventilated oven at 180°C for 15 minutes.
Once taken out of the oven and brought to the table, it is best to serve them still hot, accompanied by ketchup and mayonnaise.
