Toad in the hole (toad in the hole)

. Soak the natural casing in cold water – after 20-30 minutes, rinse in running water

. Prepare minced meat:

• chop onion and garlic

• grate parmesan

• mozzarella cut into small cubes

• mix minced meat, onion/garlic, parmesan, mozzarella, salt, black pepper and paprika in one bowl – mix well

• if possible, keep minced meat in the refrigerator for 30-40 minutes

. Prepare sausages:

• fill the natural casing with minced meat

• put the sausages in a mold (the recipe used a mold measuring 19×28 cm, 5 cm high)

• make several punctures in each sausage with a needle

• sprinkle sausages with vegetable oil

• bake in the oven for 15-20 minutes at a temperature of 200-220 degrees

. How to make the Yorkshire Pudding Dough:

• mix flour and salt

• add eggs to flour – mix

• without stopping mixing the eggs with flour, pour in the milk

• mix the dough until smooth and homogeneous (if there are lumps, wipe through a sieve)

• leave the dough to rest for 15-20 minutes

. Take the cooked sausages out of the oven

. If necessary, cut them into separate fragments

. Pour hot sausages with Yorkshire pudding batter

. Bake “Toad in a hole” for 30-40 minutes at a temperature of 180-200 degrees

. Serve hot with onion sauce and/or fresh vegetables
