The coronation plate of King Charles III

King Charles, the new sovereign, has always paid particular attention to food, preferring traditional cuisine, mainly vegetarian and based on organic and sustainable products. Not surprisingly, to celebrate his coronation scheduled for May 6 in LondonCarlo chose a simple quiche, a traditional French dish without meat, but with a base of spinach, broad beans and tarragon, which represents the culinary preference of him and his wife Camilla.

In the video which has been uploaded to the royal family’s YouTube channel, one of the court cooks shows how to prepare the Coronation Quiche, inviting citizens to do the same especially during the great events of the “Big Lunch” on May 8thduring which the neighbors had the opportunity to eat together along the streets.

Origins of the coronation plate

The choice of coronation dish is a tradition that all monarchs have honored in the past: for example, Queen Elizabeth, crowned in 1953, had chosen the Coronation Chickena variant of Indian chicken curry.
